Corona has brought mothers face-to-face with their raw maternal feelings as they go through their daily tasks. As everyday life has been totally disrupted by the pandemic, mothers are confronted by pressures and fears about keeping their children and families safe. At the height of the pandemic mothers had to manage 24/7 home care without respite, home schooling and the work environment switching to home for themselves and their partners. There was little interaction with anyone outside the home, including any usual support from family and external day care. Each day was like running a marathon as financial and employment concerns loomed and mothers were charged with answering their children’s questions and quelling anxieties, tantrums and exhaustion. Of course there was the other side as mother’s dug into their resources and found ways to entertain their children and keep the home running as smoothly as possible.
